Prepare for the Final Exam:

The final exam could be either a Compare-Contrast Essay or an Argumentative Essay. Please review the following information to be familiar with how to write each outline and essay in these academic modes.


Compare-Contrast Essay:

1. Review the model: Russia and US Differences and Similarities (textbook pages 134-135)

2. Review comparison and contrast signal words: textbook pages 141-143.

3. Review the outline style for this essay at the following link. 

1. Review the models: Refer to the essay on separating boys and girls in middle school that I gave you in class. 

2. Review the steps of writing each style: basic, block, and point-by-point

Argumentative Essay - Point-by-Point (refer to the textbook: model (p. 153-154) and outline (p. 157))

Rewriting Assignment: (due 6/16)

Please complete the rewriting assignment for next Monday.

1. Correct all of the grammar errors directly on the Process Essay paper that I returned to you.

2. Rewrite the detailed outline and essay according to the comments and suggestions I made (with grammar corrections). Don't just rewrite with correct grammar. Look at every aspect of the essay. You may rewrite whole sections of the essay if you think it is necessary. 

You will be graded on both effort and your corrections.

IMPORTANT: You must rewrite this assignment by hand. The reason is because your brain registers the correct grammar patterns better when you write by hand rather than just cutting and pasting on Word.
